The DashMe Foundation, founded by former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, has raised over N450 million in just four years to support thousands of vulnerable children, disadvantaged youths, domestic violence victims, and physically challenged persons across Nigeria. The funds have been deployed to various empowerment and social intervention projects nationwide.

Adeosun highlighted the foundation’s impact, stating, “We have impacted thousands of vulnerable Nigerians with our work. We also did borehole, solar energy, wheelchairs, and others.” A major highlight of the foundation’s anniversary celebration was the completion of a N70 million house for the Sought After Women and Children Foundation, designed as a halfway house to support young adults aged 18 to 25 who have aged out of orphanages.

The halfway house offers “a safe and dignified space to begin adulthood,” Adeosun explained, “with access to vocational training, education, and mentorship.” She described the house as “a symbol of hope and transformation.” The foundation also marked its anniversary by opening a new charity store in Wuse 2, Abuja, its third outlet, adding to existing branches in Lekki and Surulere, Lagos.

Adeosun appealed to Nigerians to support the foundation’s work, saying, “Tell people to declutter and bring their good quality and gently used and new items here so that we can sell them and send the money to the less privileged, orphanages, the physically challenged, and the needy in our midst.” She expressed gratitude to the foundation’s supporters, describing them as “saints who serve without spotlight.

The DashMe Foundation’s interventions have spanned several states and diverse communities, supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps and remote areas. Some notable projects include:

– Donating N7 million to the Last Hope Faith Orphanage to build a permanent home for children

– Providing N2.5 million worth of anti-epileptic medication and installing a sensory therapy room for children with special needs at the Peculiar Saints Orphanage

– Funding the construction of a N20 million permanent home for the YAOCH Orphanage in Ogun State

– Rebuilding the Save the Children Home from scratch and refurbishing other orphanages in Imo State

Founder of the Sought After Women and Children Foundation, Mrs. Carol Silver-Oyaide, praised Adeosun and the DashMe Foundation for their commitment to vulnerable groups, saying, “Our vision is to positively impact the lives of challenged women and children, restore hope to the abused, hurting and abandoned.
