A mass communication student at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Shakiru Samuel, has been awarded a scholarship worth N300,000 by the Gani Adams Foundation Scholarship Scheme. The award ceremony took place on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Whitestone Event Centre, Oregun, Lagos, as part of Gani Adams’ 55th birthday celebration.

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, said his foundation annually awards scholarships to deserving students from five tertiary institutions in Southwest Nigeria as part of his birthday celebrations.

Shakiru Samuel expressed gratitude to the organisers, saying, “I am truly honoured by this award. My utmost appreciation goes to Almighty God, the Gani Adams Foundation, and the celebrant for this great recognition. I advise other students to remain committed to their endeavours. I also congratulate the award recipients from other institutions.”

The scholarship recipients were selected from five institutions, including Lagos State University, University of Lagos, Ekiti State University, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, and LASUSTECH
