The CD&R Foundation, the philanthropic wing of private investment firm CD&R, has announced gifts totaling $5 million to support five nonprofit organizations in New York City. The grants, which will be distributed over the next four years, aim to promote economic access and opportunity for young people and untapped talent.
The recipient organizations include the Ali Forney Center, BASTA, Commonpoint Queens, Emma’s Torch, and Hot Bread Kitchen. These organizations work to address various challenges, such as homelessness among LGBTQ+ youth, employment gaps for first-generation students, and barriers to meaningful careers for individuals from diverse backgrounds
According to Randy Moore, president of the CD&R Foundation, “The CD&R Foundation is pleased to support these five dynamic organizations, all of which help young people and untapped talent access the skills, resources, and professional networks needed to thrive in employment.”
Moore further emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, “It is through the collaborative support and initiatives of our exceptional TSP network and community that we will continue to advance equity through opportunity and strengthen the workforce development landscape in New York City.
