FUOYE’s 9th Convocation Ceremony to Honour Former Ministers of Justice.

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Abayomi Fasina, has announced that the university has completed 156 new projects in the last four years, demonstrating its rapid growth under his leadership.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the university’s 9th convocation ceremony, Professor Fasina revealed that a total of 8,444 students would be graduating, including 177 first-class honours and 38 doctoral degrees. “We believe in equipping our community with the knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed in a rapidly evolving world,” he said.

Professor Fasina expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support to the institution. He also disclosed that 3,281 students had benefited from the Students Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and TETFUND interventions, totaling N305.7 million.

The university has made significant strides in infrastructure development, completing over 30 new lecture halls with state-of-the-art laboratories and office spaces across both the Oye and Ikole campuses. Additionally, the institution will confer honorary degrees on four exceptional individuals, including Senator Kanu Agabi, Chief Adebayo Ojo, Mr. Segun Alebiosu, and Dr. Allen Onyema.

Under Professor Fasina’s administration, the faculty has published over 2,169 documents in reputable international journals, solidifying FUOYE’s position as a significant player in the global academic community.

As part of the convocation ceremony, the institution will commission eight completed projects, including a 1,000-seater auditorium, professorial complex, Faculty of Law complex, Innovation Laboratory, 3-In-1 Faculty of Science Laboratory, and Fasina Conference Centre.
