Gaza war: Israel gives only condition for ceasefire

In the ongoing war with Hamas, Israel has imposed a condition to agree to a ceasefire.

Unless the hostages in Gaza are released, the European nation declared it will not agree to any accord.

As the war against Hamas in Gaza approaches its seventh month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted on Sunday that until the hostages in Gaza are released, Israel would not agree to a ceasefire.

He made comments at the opening of the weekly cabinet meeting, coinciding with the start of fresh ceasefire negotiations in Egypt.

Despite mounting international pressure, Netanyahu declared that Israel will not bow to “extreme” demands from Hamas, the Palestinian group that controls Gaza and which launched the war on southern Israel on October 7 with its fatal attack.
