A substantial $10 million grant from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation has been awarded to Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago, bolstering it’s efforts to combat Alzheimer’s disease.
This significant funding will enable the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Centre to expand it’s research initiatives, harnessing cutting-edge science and technology to analyse its vast repository of data.
The centre’s extensive longitudinal studies have compiled data from over 15,000 participants, including brain tissue samples and autopsy results. By leveraging this wealth of information, researchers aim to uncover novel detection mechanisms, develop innovative therapies, and redefine the paradigm for Alzheimer’s research
“We are excited to… achieve our shared vision of personalised therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia,” said Sharon Davis-Angell, trustee of the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation.
“This work has the potential to discover early detection mechanisms, develop new therapies, and to change the paradigm for how we conduct Alzheimer’s research.”
