Eno said that his connection with Emmanuel, whom he called his “political father,” has not been damaged as a result of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling such rumors unfounded and deceptive.

The governor clarified this during the Believers Assembly Evangelical Church of Nigeria’s 55th anniversary celebration on Sunday in Uyo, ON.

“For those of you who think that because I’ve changed party, I now have issues with my political father, you got it wrong,” the Governor declared.

“I have no problem with Deacon Udom Emmanuel. He remains my political father. Just last week, I was in his house in Lagos and we had a great time together.”

Eno emphasized the value of peace and unity in the state and advised Akwa Ibom people to ignore the lies meant to sow discord.

“Our young people must understand that leadership is not easy. Let’s maintain the peace in our state and continue to drive the progress we are witnessing in the state. This is the only state we have, and we must not allow outsiders to destroy it. We must protect it at all costs.”

Governor Eno praised Prelate Isaiah Isong, the founder of Believers Assembly Evangelical Church, for his steadfast prayers and support of the state while commemorating the cleric’s 55 years of ministry.

“Through the fathers in faith, which you lead, you have constantly lifted up the government in prayers. I am glad that the government you laboured for in prayer is now in power. God has answered your prayers,” he said, praying for more strength and years for the cleric.

Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, the event’s chairman and the representative for the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, praised Prelate Isong and other clerics for their spiritual contributions to the state’s peace and stability, particularly during the 2023 elections that installed Governor Eno.

Earlier, Apostle Lawrence Achudeme, the founder of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), exhorted Christians to concentrate on their own spiritual and personal development and refrain from interfering in other people’s issues or bringing others down in his sermon titled “Mind Your Business,” which was based on Philippians 2:12–16.
