Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has urged security forces in the region to pursue the unidentified gunmen responsible for ambushing and killing two Chinese miners and a police officer at a mining site in Uturu, Abia State. He called for their swift capture and prosecution.

The tragic incident, which resulted in the deaths of the two Chinese nationals and their police escort, was confirmed by the Abia State Police Command on Saturday.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti expressed his outrage over the heinous attack, condemning the assailants for carrying out such a senseless act against innocent individuals.

The governor reassured the people of Abia State that his administration would provide all necessary support to law enforcement agencies to ensure that those responsible for the killings would not escape justice.

Governor Otti emphasized that his administration has been committed to fostering a secure environment for both businesses and citizens. He highlighted the state’s continued support for security agencies, ensuring that lives and properties are safeguarded.

The governor also lamented that the attack bore signs of terrorism, urging all people of good conscience to denounce such violence. He pledged to enhance security collaborations with neighboring states to strengthen the region’s security framework and prevent criminals from entering Abia for illicit activities, as seen in this instance.
