Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the general election of 2023, has bemoaned the recent negative effects on Nigeria’s reputation and appeal to foreign investors and institutions. These downsides are serious and unmistakable.
In response to Nigeria’s exclusion from the Harvard Business School class of 2025 programme, which chose sixteen nations for its global immersion course, Obi made this statement on Wednesday via his X.
Despite the programme leader being a Nigerian professor, he said it is especially noteworthy that Nigeria was left out given its potential and talents.
By exposing students to other continents, cultures, and regions, the curriculum seeks to educate them on leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural understanding. Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, and Ghana are the four African focus countries chosen for the initiative.
“Hopefully, Nigeria will take note of these shortcomings and strive to improve its reputation and attractiveness within today’s global community.
“That is the challenge of the new Nigeria that remains ever possible,” Obi said.
