The body of Olasinmibo Abosede, also known as Sinmi, a missing Nigerian woman, has been found by Illinois authorities.

According to the Naperville Police Department and the DuPage County Forest Preserve District, the remains were discovered Thursday at approximately 1:55 p.m. in the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve close to the intersection of 83rd Street and Chandelle Drive.

According to police, the deceased’s attire matched what the 42-year-old was wearing on July 30, the day she vanished.

Wearing a black Adidas jacket, grey sweatpants, a black headscarf, and black Crocs, she was last seen on surveillance film at 9:20 a.m. in the 2100 block of Sudbury Street after leaving her house near Springbrook Golf Course for a stroll.

“While we believe the individual to be Sinmi, the final confirmation will be made by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office,” Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement.

Authorities stated that they do not believe there was foul play, but they did confirm that the coroner’s office will do an autopsy.

The Forest Preserve police and the Naperville police are conducting a collaborative investigation into her death.

Following Abosede’s disappearance, the forest preserve was searched extensively by police, volunteers, and canine units.

“Our hearts go out to Sinmi’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.” said David Pederson, the chief of police for the Forest Preserve District.
