A new energy efficiency project has received £1.5 million in funding from Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, to support the Alzheimer’s Society. The funding will be used to help people living with dementia and their families to heat their homes affordably and safely.
The project, which is being run in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, will provide energy efficiency measures such as boiler replacements, loft insulation, and draft-proofing to households affected by dementia. The project aims to improve the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of people living with dementia, while also reducing their energy bills
The Alzheimer’s Society has welcomed the funding, saying that it will make a significant difference to the lives of people living with dementia. “We are delighted to be working with Cadent on this project,” said a spokesperson for the charity. “The funding will enable us to provide vital support to people living with dementia, helping them to stay warm and safe in their homes.”
Cadent has a long history of supporting charitable causes, and the company has pledged to continue its support for the Alzheimer’s Society through this new project.
