Ashleigh Plumptre, a defender for the Super Falcons, has issued a warning about someone impersonating her online.
She raised the concern shortly after Nigeria’s senior women’s team secured a 3-0 victory over Tunisia in their opening match at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Plumptre played a key role in helping the nine-time African champions maintain a clean sheet and take the lead in Group B.
In remarks reported by Ademola Victor TV, the England-born defender stated:
“There have been a lot of cases where people impersonate me, taking my name and saying things.
“There’s a Facebook account that’s being taken down, but it is promising people money and things like that and that’s just not true,” she explained.
She made it clear that any Facebook page currently active in her name is fraudulent, adding that she has not used her own Facebook account for several years.
“I have a personal Facebook account but I don’t even use it.
