Islamic cleric arrested with human flesh in Oyo

Alfa Bashiru, an Islamic preacher, was taken into custody by the Oyo State Police Command on suspicion of possessing suspected human flesh.

In a statement posted on the Command’s official X Twitter on Wednesday, CSP Adewale Osifeso, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest.

He claims that at approximately 11:30 a.m., Federal Highway Patrol agents stopped a white bus with the license plate XA 551 IRG at the Ibadan Expressway’s Toll Gate axis, and the priest was discovered in possession of the object.

Bashiru allegedly admitted to buying the claimed human meat in Lagos when he was questioned.

Osifeso stated that the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Iyaganku’s Homicide Section has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation into the case.

“The recovered substance has been sent for forensic analysis to ascertain its authenticity and origin,” the police spokesperson stated.
