Israel will be punished for Syria airstrike – Iranian Supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, has said that “Israel will be punished” for the attack that killed Revolutionary Guards members, including two generals, at the Iranian embassy in Damascus.

Iran, according to Khamenei, would make sure Israel regrets the crime against his nation.

The Supreme Leader stated in a statement on his official website: “The evil Zionist regime will be punished at the hands of our brave men. We will make them regret this crime and the other ones.”

The elite Revolutionary Guard of Iran claimed that an airstrike on the nation’s consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria, killed seven of its members.

Israel was blamed for the airstrike in Damascus by the Syrian government and state media.

After Iran-backed Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, Israel has been increasingly targeting Iranian military personnel and their supporters in Syria. This is likely why Israel launched the strike on Iran’s embassy compound.
