Raph Nwosu, the founding chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has made it clear that he will not give in to pressure from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Nwosu stated that no inducement can prevent ADC from waxing stronger during an appearance on Arise Television on Wednesday.

He said, without naming anyone, that he had received proposals from members of President Tinubu’s administration to buy him off.

Nwosu cautioned the government and ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to avoid ADC.

“I sent the last signal to them and so on. What I’ve said wouldn’t be new to any national party chairman, as I speak to you today… I just deliberately sent that signal. And if they don’t stay off, we are compelling them.

“I have a call, and I have meetings, and not only here in Nigeria. A couple of days.

“They have used them to go to court to say that they don’t agree with the things we’re doing; therefore, it should be stopped. And they are being protected. We have pictures, and we know where they are.

“No inducement can stop ADC. As a matter of fact, what I did at our NEC meeting was to send a signal so that the presidency,” Nwosu said.

Nwosu had previously told ZINGTIE that he turned down billions of dollars to support the opposition alliance, which included Peter Obi of the Labour Party, former Rivers governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, and other powerful politicians.

A presidential spokeswoman, Bayo Onanuga, responded to Nwosu’s assertion by calling him “an egregious liar” and ordering him to disclose the sum that was obtained from Atiku in order to sell ADC.

Recall that the opposition coalition appointed former Senate President David Mark as the party’s temporary national head after embracing the ADC.

However, on Thursday, Nafiu Bala, a lawmaker from Gombe, declared himself the party’s acting national chairman, causing a leadership crisis.
