The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced a new commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, shifting it from January 31 to February 3, 2025. This change is necessary to allow the Board to make essential updates to its registration templates.
According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, the adjustments are being made in light of the recent suspension of certain law programs at selected universities, as submitted by the Council for Legal Education. Additionally, some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres were found to have used deceptive facilities to gain approval, prompting further scrutiny and corrections
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience,” Dr. Benjamin stated. “The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process.”
JAMB also warned that it would sanction CBT centers found to be employing fraudulent tactics to gain approval. The registration period will now run from February 3 to March 5, 2025, while the Direct Entry (DE) registration will take place from March 10 to April 7, 2025.
Key dates to note include:
– Mock UTME: Scheduled for April 5, 2025
– Main UTME: Will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025
