Aisha Yesufu, an activist, has been chosen deputy head of the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) membership revalidation committee.

Senator David Mark, the party’s national chairman, praised the exercise as a significant step toward repositioning the ADC for future growth, unity, stronger cohesiveness, and improved electoral competitiveness across the country.

According to the ZINGTIE, Kashim Imam chairs the committee, and Dr. Sekonte Davies serves as its secretary.

Mark stated that the project emphasized the party’s foundational principles of fairness, equity, accountability, and people-centered governance, as well as the importance of credible, verifiable membership statistics in ensuring legitimacy, relevance, and national political success.

The former Senate President indicated that the NWC-appointed committee will oversee nationwide revalidation, new registrations, grassroots mobilisation, data harmonisation, and the deployment of electronic and manual platforms to ensure transparency and documentation.

He also announced the introduction of new membership cards with state-specific security measures, asking committee members to operate with integrity, fairness, and inclusivity while working with state and local leaders across the country.

Accepting the responsibility, committee chairman Kashim Imam promised to provide rigorous and transparent service, calling the exercise as a watershed moment in the ADC’s evolution into an inclusive, people-driven movement across the country.

Imam stated that the committee has 30 days to present its findings and assured members that work had already begun to mobilise and register Nigerians in cities, rural areas, deserts, and creeks across the country.
