A socio-political group called Arewa Renaissance Group, which promotes Northern Nigeria harshly criticized Peter Obi for his callous act and warned against installing substandard boreholes in the region.
A substandard borehole was recently dug by Peter Obi in one of the Northern communities, prompting the warning. The group voiced their displeasure with the project, pointing out that Peter Obi wrote his name on the borehole, signifying that he was in charge of its construction.
The Arewa Renaissance Group released a statement saying, “The borehole Peter Obi installed in our community is an eyesore. Furthermore, his act of inscribing his name on the project is an insult. If Peter Obi believes that such an unkind gesture and substandard project can win the hearts of Northerners, then he must be joking.”
The group also questioned Peter Obi, king, on whether he would have the guts to build an equally substandard facility in any Southern Nigerian community bearing his name. They said they didn’t need his pointless and substandard projects and forbade him from taking advantage of the Northern region.
“We are not people to be used to advance his dying political career. We can see through his charades, and when the time is right, we will demonstrate to Peter Obi that we are not people to be toiled with.”
Peter Obi ought to take this as a severe warning not to disparage Northern Nigeria in this way ever again.
