Jack claimed that his mother became enraged after overhearing him and his uncle discussing it in an interview with Nollywood star Emmanuel Ehumadu on 3ple E Nolly TV. He claimed that despite his high military status, his mother had slapped his uncle. After untying her wrapper, she vowed that Jack would never be allowed to enlist in the military.

In Jack’s words: “My mom came in and said, ‘What are you telling him? You want my son to join the military. You know this is my last born’. I am the last born in the family, we are 6 boys and 2 girls.“

“She now called him and said, ‘Is something wrong with your head?’ This man was a commodore but she slapped him. My mom got angry, she untied her wrapper and said, ‘If you ever join the army, know that I’m not the one who gave birth to you.“

“She swore that there’s nothing I could do in life that would make me join the military. She dared me to try. Then she invoked God’s name, saying, ‘God, if this boy didn’t come from my womb, change this thing I’m saying.’ Then she retied her wrapper.“
