Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, his family, and security personnel have left Government House in Port Harcourt.

According to reports, Fubara departed the location early on Wednesday.

With only a few security personnel on the ground, the Government House continues to have a minimum security presence.

Activities in Port Harcourt continue as usual, with locals going about their everyday lives in spite of the event.

Citing the legislative branch of government’s inability to function, President Tinubu proclaimed a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday.

Retired Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas was chosen by him to assume the state’s administrative duties.
