On Friday, January 24, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu named Ikye Orikpo the new chairman of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) Teaching Hospital as part of his Renewed Hope agenda.
Orikpo from Delta state joins the new board chairpersons who were revealed earlier on Friday, January 24, according to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) is chaired by Duro Meseko of Kogi state, the president explained.
It said: “What appears to be a duplication has been corrected.”
The head of the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority is Yahaya Bello Wurnon, who was born in Sokoto, not Ambassador Wurno.
The presidency said: “The mix-up is regretted.”

A Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion on notice seeking leave to appeal as an interested party in the suit filed by William Fialasoika and 24 others against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the party’s congresses in the state. The sacked PDP Rivers State Chairman, Chukwuemeka Aaron, had filed the motion on behalf of those purportedly elected as state executives. Also included were Oye Fubara Igenewari, representing those elected as local government executives, and ThankGod Beke, representing ward executives As interested parties, they asked the court for permission to appeal the ruling that removed them from office. The PDP, the original suit's respondent, has already appealed the decision that declared the congresses invalid, thus Justice Stephen Jumbo rejected the motion in his decision on Friday.
