On Saturday night, Donald Trump, the new president of the United States, arrived in the Washington region for an inaugural ceremony and celebration of his return to office.
According to information obtained by reporters, Trump boarded an Air Force aircraft that outgoing President Joe Biden brought to the Republican’s Palm Beach, Florida, base, as he prepared for his transition following his victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris on November 5.
Trump’s wife, Melania, daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner, are traveling with him.
Trump drove to his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, which is outside of Washington, after landing at Dulles airport in suburban Virginia.
Before a fireworks show and luncheon for over 500 guests, the incoming president and first lady were serenaded by Elvis Presley mimic Leo Days.
On Sunday, the eve of his inauguration, the 78-year-old president-elect is scheduled to host a rally with supporters inside the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington. On Monday afternoon, he will hold a post-inauguration gathering.
According to reports, Trump decided to move the inaugural celebrations from the famous west front of the U.S. Capitol building indoors to the Capitol Rotunda and the march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capital One Arena due to the frigid weather anticipated for Monday.
At 12 p.m. ET (1700 GMT), Trump will take the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda and then give his inaugural address, which usually sets the tone for the president’s four-year tenure.
