The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, has revealed that 49 students will graduate with First Class honours as the institution prepares for its 15th convocation ceremony, scheduled for September 22–23, 2025.

Addressing journalists at a pre-convocation briefing on Wednesday, Adebooye explained that the graduands include students admitted in the 2021/2022 academic session for four-year programmes, as well as those from the 2020/2021 session who have successfully completed all academic requirements.

He attributed the smooth and timely graduation exercise to the university’s commitment to efficiency, quality education, and dedication to student success

Providing a breakdown, the vice-chancellor disclosed that a total of 2,851 degrees and diplomas will be awarded. These include 2,505 first degrees, one postgraduate diploma, 283 master’s degrees, and 62 doctoral degrees. Out of the first-degree category, 988 students will graduate with Second Class (Upper Division), 1,279 with Second Class (Lower Division), and 178 with Third Class honours, while one student obtained a Pass degree.

“This year’s convocation is historic as it celebrates not only the achievements of our students but also the steady transformation of UNIOSUN into a centre of innovation and academic distinction,” Adebooye declared.

He further announced that the ceremony would feature the commissioning of landmark projects, including the iconic Senate Building funded by TETFund’s High Impact Intervention, the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology Building, a twin 500-seater lecture theatre, and other facilities spread across the university’s campuses.

Adebooye expressed appreciation to TETFund, Osun State Governor and Visitor to the University, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as well as the Governing Council for their roles in advancing UNIOSUN’s infrastructural and academic development.
