The the African Democratic Congress, ADC state branch has rejected any kind of alliance with Nasir El-Rufai, the state’s former governor, as Kaduna State prepares to cast ballots in its local government bye-elections.
Additionally, ADC rejected any kind of cooperation with the state’s Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Zaria, Sabon Gari Constituency, and Kajuru/Chikun Federal Constituency will all hold bye-elections.
El-Rufai, a prominent figure in the opposition alliance that embraced the ADC nationally, arrived in Kaduna a few days ago to a thunderous reception from SDP members.
Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha, the State Chairman, countered that the purpose of ADC’s association with El-Rufai was to mislead the public.
El-Rufai is neither an official nor a member of the ADC, Mustapha emphasized.
“The ADC in Kaduna State is not in any coalition or alliance with the SDP or any other political party in the state. There is no written or verbal agreement to that effect,” he said.
