Alhaji Rabiu Suleiman Gulma, a former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area, has urged former Attorney General of the Federation and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami (SAN) to run for governor of Kebbi State in 2027.
Speaking to reporters in Yauri, Gulma made the plea, pointing out that Malami is a qualified candidate to head the state due to his background in government and widespread recognition.
“Though he has not declared interest, we believe Malami is the kind of leader Kebbi needs. His track record speaks for itself,” he said.
In the event that Malami expresses interest in the race, Gulma and other loyalists are ready to start discussions and rally support in each of the state’s 21 local government districts.
Many APC stakeholders in Kebbi, he added, are hopeful that Malami could bring the party back together and give the state’s development a fresh sense of purpose.
