Nigerians are being urged to vote against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections of 2027 by former Interior Minister and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, who has launched a massive membership mobilization campaign for the party in Lagos State’s Kosofe Local Government Area.

Speaking to party members in attendance, Aregbesola charged that the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and APC had not delivered on their promises of real development or decent administration.

According to him, the ADC is a viable substitute that can “put the nation back on the path of progress.”

Despite early delays, a sizable crowd attended the event, which was a part of a larger national mobilization campaign.

Aregbesola urged members to step up their efforts to raise awareness at the grassroots level, promote voter registration through the ongoing INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) campaign, and get ready to “protect their” during the polls.

“Go out and spread the gospel of the ADC to all Nigerians, especially in your local government areas. Tell them that a new vista of hope and opportunity awaits them in our party,” he charged, promising incentives to support mobilisation efforts.

The event also demonstrated Aregbesola’s increasing disobedience to the Lagos APC leadership and President Bola Tinubu. Lagos State ADC Chairman George Ashiru, Lagos State Influencer Rahman Owokoniran, and Kosofe LGA Influencer Funmi Onita-Coker were among the prominent ADC figures who attended the event and emphasized the significance of mass mobilization in the run-up to 2027.

Greeting potential members, Ashiru promised to provide “honest and transparent leadership,” guaranteeing equal chances for both newcomers and current party members.

Aregbesola declared that ADC membership cards would soon be distributed and called for more grassroots involvement.
