Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, the Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has passed away just two months after taking office.

The news of her death on Saturday has deeply affected both the political and traditional communities in the historic town of Badagry.

Ajose assumed her role on July 27, 2025, during an inauguration ceremony held in Lagos, where she was sworn in alongside the LCDA Chairman, Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, and five councilors by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Her family has confirmed the passing and stated that her body has been placed in a mortuary.

Princess Ajose was the daughter of Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of the Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom, a connection that has intensified the mourning within the royal family and the wider community.

It is worth noting that Oluwakemi Rufai, who represented Ward C1 in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, also died on August 13 less than two weeks after taking office.
