Lightning strike claims two lives in Lagos

In the Lagos State neighborhood of FESTAC, two women were struck by lightning and murdered.

The state’s police spokesperson, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, announced this on Saturday in a tweet he sent on his @benHundeyin Twitter account.

He claims that the event took place on Friday in the pouring rain.

“Somewhere on First Avenue, FESTAC, two women remained indoors during the downpour yesterday.

“Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak,” he said.

He went on to say that the victims were under high-voltage lines in a shack.

The PPRO expressed condolences for the departed and wished them eternal peace.
