In a heartwarming display of community love and care, Ejule Forum recently organized a medical outreach that provided free medical services to no fewer than 1,580 members of the Ejule Community in Kogi State. The majority of the beneficiaries were senior citizens, considered vulnerable in the community.
The 24-man medical team, led by Abuh Ademu, was equipped with necessary drugs and health equipment to tackle various health challenges, including hypertension, diabetes, eye screenings, and deworming. According to Dr. Farouk Achimugu, National President of Ejule Forum, “Today, we gather not just to provide medical services to the vulnerable in our community, but to reinforce our collective responsibility for the health and well-being of our people.
The medical outreach was preceded by a road walk aimed at sensitizing youths to the dangers of drug abuse and consumption of narcotics and other psycho-active substances. Dr. Achimugu emphasized the need to empower youths with relevant knowledge and information to discourage them from consuming illicit drugs.
The Ejule Forum’s efforts were made possible through the support of key stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor of Kogi State and a member of the House of Representatives. Dr. Achimugu expressed gratitude to these partners, saying, “We appreciate the support and encouragement from our partners, and we commend all members of Ejule Forum at home and in Diaspora for making funds available for the outreach.”
This initiative is expected to become an annual event, promoting a healthy lifestyle in the community and its environs. As Dr. Achimugu noted, “Any investment in the health of the people is worth it.” The Ejule Forum’s commitment to the well-being of its community members is truly inspiring, and their efforts are sure to bring lasting impact and positive change
