After a terrifying three-day search for their two missing children, a family in Lanet, Nakuru County, is celebrating.
On Sunday, August 31, Blessing Wangui, age six, and her brother, Sammy Lewis, age three, vanished under suspicious circumstances.
Together with their older sisters, Teresia Wambui and Faith Kanini, the siblings had departed for Rapha Gospel Church that morning. The smaller children arrived and played with the other youngsters while the church service was in progress.
But Blessing and Sammy weren’t there when Faith went to see how they were doing at 3:30 p.m. The family, churchgoers, and worried locals immediately began searching as a result. The family was distressed when the two children could not be located despite their best attempts.
When an unknown woman in a white sedan mysteriously put the twins off on the side of the road close to their house on Wednesday afternoon, relief was finally felt. She sped off without providing an explanation, according to witnesses.
The family, who had suffered through restless nights and unrelenting anxiety, experienced great joy and emotional relief at the unexpected return.
Even though the kids are safe today, there are still unanswered concerns regarding how they vanished. To find out what happened during the three-day absence and to identify the woman involved, authorities have opened an investigation.
