N136m Students’ Loan: NELFUND Supports 2,222 Joseph Sarwan Tarka University Students.

The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of N136.7 million in student loans to 2,222 students of Joseph Sarwan Tarka University in Makurdi, Benue State. This latest disbursement is a significant milestone in NELFUND’s efforts to support the education of Nigerian youth.

According to a statement by the media office of the Fund, the Pro-Chancellor of Joseph Sarwan Tarka University, Senator Olanrewaju Tejuoso, played a crucial role in facilitating the disbursement of the fund. “His unwavering support and commitment were instrumental in ensuring a seamless disbursement process, exemplifying a genuine commitment to the academic welfare of students,” the statement reads.

Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, emphasized the importance of investing in education, stating that “by investing in the education of today’s youth, NELFUND is building a stronger, more prosperous future for the nation.”. He also highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts between government, institutions, and stakeholders in addressing the financial challenges facing Nigerian students.

Sawyerr expressed his gratitude to Senator Tejuoso, saying, “Education is the foundation of any thriving society, and we at NELFUND are proud to support institutions like Joseph Sarwan Tarka University in fostering the academic growth of our youth. We extend our deepest gratitude to Senator Tejuoso for his dedication and tireless efforts in ensuring this initiative reaches the students who need it most”.
