Following the recent Court of Appeal ruling that upheld the Bako-led executive, the State Working Committee (SWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, led by Adamu Bako, has extended a hand of healing to the resentful faction loyal to Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo.
The PDP leadership referred to the appellate court’s decision as “a victory for all” in a statement issued Monday by Mr. Jonathan Ipaa, Chairman Adamu Bako’s press secretary. They urged important stakeholders to set aside their disagreements and work together to rebuild the party in advance of the general elections in 2027.
“There is no victor and no vanquish. There is no reason to even celebrate, as this is a family affair—just as the presiding judge rightly advised,” Bako stated.
He gave party supporters his word that his leadership will make every effort to unite all members in the spirit of peace and reconciliation.
“The task ahead requires every lover of the party to work for unity and harmony if we are to reclaim PDP’s rightful place in the political landscape of Nasarawa State,” Bako added.
Bako encouraged the party’s reconciliation committee to further up attempts to engage with the Onawo-led side, even as he praised the Appeal Court’s decision as a settlement of an internal party issue.
The Onawo group, however, swiftly responded by rejecting the appellate court’s decision and declaring their intention to appeal it to the Supreme Court.
