The main suspect in the horrific murder of two young ladies in Kenya, Rosemary Njeri Ndekei, 22, and Hellen Wambui, 20, has been taken into custody by detectives.

In Ngorongo hamlet, Gituamba Ward, Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu County, the victims were recently raped and killed.

Said to be Samuel Kamau, the victims’ neighbor, the suspect was taken into police custody on Wednesday, April 16, in the ‘Dry’ neighborhood of Ngorongo.

Not only did he confess to the killings, but he also shockingly admitted to attending the funerals of both girls and even helping to dig their graves.

Kamau kept her smartphone after killing the first victim and started using it, which ultimately helped investigators find him by utilizing the IMEI tracing on the device.

Local youths helped police retrieve the second victim’s phone earlier today after he disposed of it by throwing it into a pit latrine.

The defendant has not displayed any remorse and has acknowledged raping and k!lling the two females.

He is currently being processed and will appear in court to be arraigned.

It was learned that on March 30, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM, Wambui, a God-fearing, reserved young woman, was sent by her mother to an MPESA store to take out cash for their meal, but she never came back.

For two torturous days, her family searched for her, only to receive the sad news on Tuesday evening that her death was discovered just meters from their home.

After her boyfriend, John Ndung’u Mwihaki, dropped her off in another town to visit a friend, Njeri was discovered dead at a coffee plantation with her body covered in acid.
