Nigeria has been selected to host the upcoming edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the AFRIMA international committee at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Themed ‘Unstoppable Africa’, the prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Lagos State from November 25 to 30, 2025.
Angela Martins, AUC’s Director of Social Development, Culture, and Sport, commended the host city, describing Lagos as a consistent performer when it comes to organizing high-profile global events.
“Lagos has the right mix of modern facilities, strong media presence, security and transport systems, and good hospitality that make it ideal for hosting a major global event,” she said.
Entry submissions for the awards will open on May 27 and close on August 8, 2025.
The event is expected to bring together over 1,600 nominees, 2,300 members of the production team, and more than 60,000 attendees and delegates.
It is also projected to reach a global audience of over 400 million through live broadcasts on 109 television stations across 84 countries.
