Nigerian actress Grace Bassey, formerly known as Belinda Effah, has officially transitioned from the entertainment industry to military service by joining the United States Navy.
After completing boot camp training in the U.S. Navy, Bassey not only earned her uniform but also secured American citizenship.
In a post shared on Instagram, she reflected on her journey, noting that although she was brought up in Nigeria, life in America has pushed her to become more resilient and focused.
She also shared photos and videos marking the beginning of her military career, dedicating the milestone to her late father, “Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah.”
The 35-year-old actress made her first appearance in Nollywood in the 2005 television series Shallow Waters. She later changed her name from Belinda Effah to Grace-Charis Bassey following what she described as a life-changing spiritual encounter.
