Afrobeats artist Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, widely recognized by her stage name Qing Madi, has expressed her concerns about the state of the Nigerian music scene.
The 18-year-old singer described the industry as being “so dark.”
In a post shared via her Instagram story, she wrote, “The industry is so dark.”
Her view echoes the sentiments of other artists like Reekado Banks, who recently alleged that a “demonic” figure within the industry has been actively working against up-and-coming musicians.
Qing Madi previously revealed that she experienced a decline in social media followers after publicly sharing her Christian faith and speaking about Jesus online.
Despite the backlash, she maintained that she had no regrets about her decision.
Similarly, years ago, Kizz Daniel made comparable claims, describing the Nigerian music business as a “cartel” controlled by a powerful “cabal.”
