From Wednesday to Friday, there should be a modest amount of dust haze nationwide, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook, which was made public on Tuesday, the northern region will have localised visibility of less than or equal to 1,000 metres and horizontal visibility of 2 to 5 km.
“Moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km is expected over the North Central region and the inland cities of the South during the forecast period, while a hazy atmosphere is envisaged over the coastal cities throughout the forecast period,” it said.
The agency reports that during Thursday’s forecast period, a moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2 to 5 km is also anticipated across the North, North Central, and South inland cities.
Over the course of the forecast period, it called for a foggy atmosphere over the nation’s coastal regions.
For the duration of the forecast period, NiMet anticipates a moderate dust haze on Friday with horizontal visibility of 2 to 5 km over the North, the North-central region, and the inland parts of the South.
“Hazy atmosphere is expected over the coastal cities during the forecast period, and the public should take necessary precautions as dust particles will be in the air.
“People with Asthma and other respiratory issues should be cautious of the present weather situations.
