On Tuesday, Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, challenged the Abuja Federal High Court’s ruling.
According to Ejimakor, Kanu’s legal team presented a plethora of evidence, defying the court’s decision.
Kanu’s N1 billion lawsuit against the Nigerian government and the Department of State Services, DSS, was denied by Justice James Omotosho on Monday.
According to the judge, there is no proof that Kanu’s lawyers at the Department of State Services (DSS) were keeping him from seeing them.
According to Justice Omotosho, Kanu was unable to substantiate his claims that he was violated of his fundamental rights by the DSS and its Director General, Yusuf Bichi.
Kanu sued the Attorney-General of the Federation, the DSS, Bichi, and the Nigerian government through attorney Aloy Ejimakor for denying him access to his lawyers.
Kanu had sought N1 billion in the first summons, dated and filed December 4, 2023, and marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1633/2023.
Ejimakor reacted by vowing to challenge Justice Omotosho’s decision.
Speaking with ZINGTIE, Ejimakor said: “I am already preparing the notice of appeal. The evidence submitted before the court was legion. Some of it is even in the public domain.”
