The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, or NNPCL, has dropped the price of premium motor spirit yet again.
ZINGTIE’s correspondent, who walked around Abuja on Monday morning, discovered that NNPCL retail stores have dropped their fuel prices to N815 per liter, down from N835.
This means that the NNPCL fueling stations reduced their prices by N20.
The new price has been applied at NNPCL filling stations in Wuse Zones 6 and 4 Abuja, Keffi-Abuja Road, and Kubwa Expressway.
An NNPCL filling station attendant, who wanted anonymity, told ZINGTIE that the increased pricing took effect on Sunday evening.
However, the N815 per liter is N79 more than the N739 per liter sold at Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations nationwide.
ZINGTIE remembers that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL reduced its petrol price by N80 to N835 amid a pricing war among competitors in the country’s oil downstream sector sparked by Dangote Refinery’s gantry price fall to N699 per liter.
