The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that corps members make meaningful impacts in the communities where they serve.
This assurance was given by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 orientation programme in Bauchi. His message was delivered by the NYSC Bauchi State Coordinator, Rifkatu Yakubu.
The Director General praised the corps members for showing strong values such as patriotism, discipline, loyalty, and maturity throughout the three-week orientation, emphasizing that these traits are vital for a productive service year.
“By your show of maturity, patriotism, commitment, discipline, and tolerance, I am confident that your time on camp has been worthwhile and that you will positively impact your host communities,” he stated.
He urged the corps members to be diligent, loyal, and adaptable as they proceed to the next phase of their service.
“Settle down quickly at your places of primary assignment, respect the customs and culture of your host communities, obey local rules, and ensure you leave those communities better than you met them through your community development efforts,” he advised.
Reporters reported that a total of 1,600 corps members 717 males and 883 females have been deployed across the state for the one-year national service.
