Obi Cubana reacts as Burna Boy clears all hospital bills at Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital

Well-known businessman Obinna Iyiegbu also referred to as Obi Cubana, has responded to Burna Boy’s recent thoughtful act at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, for which he received a Grammy Award.

According to ZINGTIE, Burna Boy recently paid all of the hospital patients’ costs when visiting the facility in his hometown. The highly guarded musician entered the hospital and saw a few patients in the videos posted to Twitter.

He had also donated more than N10 million to University of Port Harcourt students. He claimed in his statement that he had come to Port Harcourt only out of love for his people and those needing financial support with things like school tuition.

In response to the video, Obi Cubana stated in the comments section that there is a reason he is an Odogwu. “Odogwu for a reason,” he wrote.

A few internet users also praised the Afrobeat star in the comment area.

Court made final decision on motion to appeal PDP congress ruling by sacked executives

A Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion on notice seeking leave to appeal as an interested party in the suit filed by William Fialasoika and 24 others against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the party’s congresses in the state. The sacked PDP Rivers State Chairman, Chukwuemeka Aaron, had filed the motion on behalf of those purportedly elected as state executives. Also included were Oye Fubara Igenewari, representing those elected as local government executives, and ThankGod Beke, representing ward executives As interested parties, they asked the court for permission to appeal the ruling that removed them from office. The PDP, the original suit's respondent, has already appealed the decision that declared the congresses invalid, thus Justice Stephen Jumbo rejected the motion in his decision on Friday. The PDP's state, local, and ward executives, led by Aaron, were fired by the same court on January 13, 2025, under the presidence of Justice Jumbo, after the congresses that elected them were deemed invalid.
