Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has announced his intention to run for the Delta North Senatorial seat.

Okowa made the declaration on Monday as the 2027 general elections approach.

ZINGTIE reports that the seat is currently held by billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko, the embattled husband of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

The 2023 vice-presidential candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okowa, revealed his plan to contest for the Senate seat under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okowa served as the Governor of Delta State from 2015 to 2023.
