According to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the PDP chose to abstain from the local government poll on Saturday because they were afraid of losing.
Aiyedatiwa claims that the opposition party’s choice was the result of timidity.
The PDP had previously pulled out of the race due to what it called the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission’s (ODIEC) lack of legitimacy.
After casting his ballot at his polling place, 5, Ward 4, in the state’s Ilaje Local Council Area, the governor spoke and praised ODIEC for the election’s seamless execution.
“For the PDP to pull out, that is cowardice. They participated in the whole process; the ODIEC released the timetable for the election.
I don’t know the reason for that. Maybe the fear of losing, every election has its own logistics, and other political parties are participating for whatever reason that made them withdraw; I am not privy to that.”
