The Dangote Group has denied involvement in two fatal traffic accidents that happened on Wednesday in Enugu State.
In a statement on Thursday, spokesperson Anthony Chijiena clarified that the trucks involved in the separate crashes were not owned or operated by the company or any of its subsidiaries.
This position aligns with a statement from the Enugu State Police Command, which confirmed that the vehicles belonged to two logistics firms, Visco Investment Global and Global Investment. The accidents resulted in the deaths of ten people.
Responding to the incidents, Dangote Group expressed deep condolences to the victims and their families.
The company also raised concerns about the spread of false information linking these accidents to Dangote without proper evidence.
It urged the public and media to verify facts before sharing reports and reaffirmed its dedication to road safety.
Dangote Group noted that it has repeatedly warned truck drivers against using its logo on unauthorized vehicles.
The company pledged to enhance monitoring and take legal measures against anyone misusing its brand identity.
