The Mangal Foundation, established by Katsina State-born business mogul and philanthropist Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, has provided free urology surgeries and treatments to over 3,000 vulnerable patients. The foundation has expended over N80 million in this initiative, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need.

“The foundation’s main objective is to alleviate the burden of healthcare costs on the most vulnerable people, as many of them struggle to meet basic needs,” said Husaaini Kabir, a Board of Trustees member of the foundation.

The foundation has conducted about 10 urology surgery exercises since its inception and has earmarked another N20 million for the second quarter of this year. “The foundation has engaged the best medical team and procured high-quality drugs and medical equipment for the surgery,” Kabir added

Beneficiaries, including Adamu Aliyu, a staff member of the state polytechnic, have expressed gratitude for the foundation’s efforts. “My little salary could not afford me the surgery because of the huge expenses involved,” Aliyu said. “I pray the Almighty to reward the foundation for its good gesture.”

The Mangal Foundation’s initiative is a testament to it’s commitment to giving back to society. “The foundation is exclusively for empowerment, development, educational, and charitable purposes, and supporting the poor and vulnerable in the areas of healthcare and economic skills,” Kabir said.

The foundation’s impact extends beyond Katsina State, with patients from neighboring states and even Niger Republic benefiting from its services. As one beneficiary noted, “This gesture is also a blessing from above.” Other beneficiaries have called on government, private organisations, and wealthy individuals to emulate the foundation’s gesture
