Bishop David Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of Winners Chapel (Living Faith Church Worldwide), has cautioned pastors not to lie in an effort to uphold or advance their ministries.
During the final day of the 21-day fasting and prayer programme on Sunday, while speaking at the third service at the church’s international headquarters in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo stated that liars do not last in ministries.
“You won’t last in the ministry telling lies. I stand before God, I will never tell lies about what God did not do just to impress anyone,” he said.
The cleric underscored the significance of steadfast adherence to the truth of the Scriptures and glorifying God alone, pointing out that such dedication allows ministers to reach admirable heights.
He also recommended that followers of Christ nurture their love for Jesus, stating that relying fully on God ensures triumph over life’s difficulties.
The bishop also provided a personal account, reminiscing about how a close friend in Ile-Ife who suffered from insanity was healed after being read to from Scripture.
He stated that he was confident of divine protection and that any malevolent scheme aimed at him would fail.
