According to ZINGTIE, three individuals from Oyo State who are currently employed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are anticipated to resign from their roles at any moment.

Before March 31 of this year, the trio are anticipated to exit Tinubu’s government.

Our correspondent learned that their decision to resign follows a directive from the President earlier this week.

A few days ago, Tinubu instructed all political appointees in his administration who are seeking to run for elective positions in the 2027 general elections to resign by March 31.

This announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by Dewan Goshit, who is the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).

ZINGTIE, however, gathered that three individuals, including Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, and Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, are expected to resign.

The three individuals are gubernatorial candidates representing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In order to chase their ambitions for the governorship in the 2027 state general elections, they are expected to step down.

The current Minister of Power is Adelabu, who comes from Ibadan, the capital city of the state. Tinubu appointed him in 2023.

Shittu, formerly the Minister of Communications under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, currently holds the position of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at Dave Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences in Ebonyi State.

In June 2024, Tinubu appointed Shittu, who hails from Saki within the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone.

Olaniyan, who previously held the position of Deputy Governor of the state, serves as the Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal College of Education (Special) in Oyo.

In July 2024, he took on the role.

ZINGTIE has learned that none of the three individuals has stepped down from their roles.

Nonetheless, they are anticipated to resign at any moment in order to chase their gubernatorial ambitions.
