Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that merit, competence, and excellence guide appointments made by his administration. He stressed that the government’s focus remains on ability and performance rather than political affiliation, personal bias, or ethnic background.

He made this statement on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony of members of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission, which took place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Agodi Secretariat in Ibadan.

Makinde underscored that only individuals capable of driving progress and making impactful contributions to the state’s development will be considered for public roles, regardless of their political or regional affiliations.

“Wherever we can find talent that can add value to us as a state, I will go for such a person,” the governor said.

He encouraged the newly appointed commission members to apply their skills and commitment to enhancing the state’s judicial system and supporting the overall welfare of the people.

Justice Iyabo Yerima, the Chief Judge of Oyo State, will chair the Judicial Service Commission. Mrs. M.O. Abdulganiyu has been named as the Secretary.

Other appointees to the commission include the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Abiodun Aikomo; Mr. Musibau Adetunji; Chief Joshua Abioye; Chief Moyosore Ajani; and Mr. Wahab Adedigba.
