Pastor Adeboye reacts on ‘picture’ of him in Mecca circulating online

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has responded to the AI-generated picture that was making the rounds on social media and that portrayed him as an alhaji.

Adeboye gave a speech at the first Holy Ghost Night of the new year, which took place early on Saturday, January 4, according to Church Times Nigeria on Saturday.

at late December of last year, pictures went viral on the internet that showed the RCCG pastor at the Saudi Arabian holy city of Mecca, dressed in Islamic garb.

“I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji,” Adeboye said, acknowledging the AI-generated image of him as an alhaji with a sarcastic smile.

A male figure who completes Hajj ceremonies on a holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia is termed an Alhaji while the female equivalent is called an Alhaja.
