PDP declares their stand with Obaseki on provocation, destructive politics of Okpebholo administration

Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it stands completely behind the former Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki, in all his projects and policies accomplished while in office.

According to the Zingtie, the party stated in a statement released on Tuesday by its Publicity Secretary, Dan Osa-Ogbegie, that it would not permit individuals who made no contributions to Edo’s advancement to damage the legacy of the former governor.

According to him, the PDP stands strongly, absolutely and unashamedly with Mr Godwin Obaseki.

“We will not allow his legacy to be undermined by those who contributed nothing to Edo’s progress.

“We stand with him because he governed with courage, protected Edo’s treasury, uplifted Edo’s people and resisted the predatory demands of political godfathers.

“History will vindicate him. Edo people already have”, he said.

The party, however, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rein in members of the All Progressives Congress in the State.

The party contended that the actions of the State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and his handlers was scorching the polity and may cause a seismic firestorm if not promptly restrained.

According to this opinion, the politics of APC members are motivated by resentment rather than service; a grudge rather than a vision.
